One hundred years from now… it will not matter what your bank account was, the sort of house you lived in, or the kind of car you drove… but the world may be different because you were important in the life of a child.
Have you made a difference in the life of a child?
Many of us seek opportunity for some form of immortality, some way to project ourselves into the future long beyond our time on this planet.
Yet, the answer to that opportunity lies all around us. In the choice to be giving of ourselves to children, we deliver love, knowledge, principle, ethics and morals to the next generation, by exemplary behavior and through regular, constructive communication.
In the course of trying to make ourselves tremendously sentient, we awaken to the miracles surrounding us, and indulge in the opportunities and experiences that our life affords us.
A portion of that time might be best spent by investing into the future, and sharing some of that which you have learned, with your child or someone else’s.
In that altruistic act, you are providing value and benefit on levels that you probably cannot even begin to imagine, unless you were able to look back at a life well-lived, and trace all of the experiences and communications you have had with others and watched through some magic filter, how each and every one of those have slowly germinated into ideas, principles, behaviors and scruples.
On this beautiful Father’s Day, take a vantage position and look at the magic that you have generated over the course of your time spent walking planet earth.
Look into the children’s eyes and see the pieces that you have helped to inspire and take deep comfort in the fact that, even if there are days where it feels as if your energies are for naught, you are probably still slowly, creating ever deeper foundations upon which they might stand and see an even brighter future than the one that you have already left.
In your opportunity to share with others, you yourself are growing exponentially.
Happy Father’s Day!
