A little cold terror over job security never hurt anyone.
BARBARA HALL
Do you operate professionally in an environment that exudes the “Kill or be killed,” “Adapt or die” perspectives?
When we are working to either establish or subsequently, maintain our position in our working environment, we may or may not be cognizant of the competition human and technological that fiercely surrounds us.
We might feel somewhat comfortable, for a host of selected reasons, that we are in a position of security, which ultimately breeds a complacency that may be ruthlessly leveraged against us, in the blink of an eye.
Periodically, life delivers us a wake up call, which for many, may be viewed as a rude awakening.
This discovery traditionally reveals that we are more vulnerable in our main course of action than we might have hoped. This highly uncomfortable revelation can be incredibly debilitating and can create a huge degree of anxiety, which ultimately breeds insecurity in our hearts and minds.
At first blush, this harsh reality may appear to be exactly that, but upon more inspection, we would be well served to recognize that anything that elevates our diminished desire while simultaneously bolstering our ability to perform with more determination than we have performed previously, is an incredibly valuable stimulus. If used and processed properly, this will facilitate our own ability to become stronger in whichever category we have previously found our degree of comfort within.
As we recognize why these variables within us require continuous stimulation, we might be prudent to explore the cause and reason for such a variable to have the prerequisite impact upon us that it is intended to have.
When we are willing to let down our defenses, and thereby enable those who have a more fierce fire in their belly to supplant us, we are unquestionably on the decline.
I would be willing to presuppose that almost everyone has had, or will have, chapters like this in their own personal experience. And if they haven’t yet, it might still be waiting around the corner.
When we are unwilling to mature via our own resources, then sometimes it requires others to shake up that equation, and remind us that nothing in life is guaranteed, and everything in life is factored by the effort, energy and dynamics of the circumstances, in order to maintain the equilibrium upon which we may have come to depend.
This allows us to understand how and why this present threat may squash our lackadaisical nature and forces us to perpetually stay on top of our game even in times that are highly inconvenient.
As a net result, like it or not, we unquestionably grow stronger through the process.
Whether you are the employer or the employee, the client, or the agency, or any other combination thereof, understanding that these parameters are integral to the overall, success quotient could not be more important.
Expose yourself to dangers of your own choosing for only the fittest survive.
Happy Wednesday!
