Life is short…and if you’re not careful, you’ll spend so much time doing everything you ‘have’ to do that you’ll run out of time for the things that bring you joy. Make space. It’s never convenient. It’s always worth it.
MICHELL C. CLARK
What percentage of your life do you spend on doing things that bring you joy?
There are so many sign posts on the road to tell us that we are missing the big picture and yet, our lifestyle and our respective needs and desires continue to potentially misdirect a segment of our life that could be well spent pursuing things that bring us deeper satisfaction and greater fulfillment, then perhaps any of the activities in which we engage on a regular basis.
Our continuous need to find happiness could not be more poignant than in those moments where we feel continuously lost in the drudgery of that which we are engaged within.
In those moments, we seek a certain degree of respite from all that we have continuously pursued, all the while, our hopes and dreams remain locked in the prison of our own attempts at success.
Yet there is a bigger picture and “One day you’ll find, ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.”
So what is the solution if we are working so diligently to achieve success that we are in a continuous state of remaining beholden to all that we have put into motion?
Is there a middle ground in which there must be some time for us to appreciate being alive, and enjoying the continuous resources that life has to offer us, if we were awake enough to leverage a portion of our lives, enjoying and appreciating those elements?
If we are working regularly to ensure that some of those moments are prioritized in our world, we will grow to understand how and why it was so prudent for us to have sought those experiences and made them our flagship of discovery.
When we work as diligently as we may, there has to be a reward, lest we come to the end of the ride and discover we missed the boat entirely.
Make time for yourself. It’s worth it.
Happy Tuesday!
