The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve, but a reality to experience. A process that cannot be understood by stopping it. We must move with the flow of the process. We must join it. We must flow with it.

FRANK HERBERT

Do you find yourself moving with the flow?

We are often times feeling akin to a salmon swimming upstream to spawn, while we try and solve our biggest dreams, wishes and quandaries.

Yet, as we pursue each of these variables, we encounter continuous obstacles around which we must navigate.

When we look at the entire life experience as being potentially thwarted by external forces, we are more prone to see all of the variables as potentially confrontational, and directly opposing our respective dreams and aspirations.

But what if life is really much more like a river in which we are caught up in the larger mechanisms that generate the cadence of movement across the paths we are likely to navigate over the course of time?

If we were aware that many of the impedances, which we are encountering, are merely lessons that are along our route, in order to help galvanize our deepest strengths, skills, and resources, wouldn’t that most likely impact our perspective?

In that circumstance, would we not be far wiser to continue to process and work through each of those issues, but simultaneously maintain an external perspective as to how, and why, those lessons create value and overall strength in our being?

With such a perspective in place, we potentially become all the more powerful and resourceful as a direct result.

We may not all be born with the proper set of tools in which we might instantly prevail, but with enough of a thoughtful perspective, and increased awareness, we might still finish the race much further ahead than we had first imagined, if we learn to go with the flow.

Happy Monday!
