Focus on your healing and growth. The right people for you will grow closer, and the wrong further away. Work on you, for you. In all ways, always.

Where are you setting your sights as you work towards some imaginary finish line?

If your eye is always on the goal and nothing else, you are going to lose the metaphorical race.

Yes, you may very well achieve all that you set out to achieve. And…you may be the very first to accomplish this. But…you may still have completely missed the mark, if a portion of your intentions were not focused on self improvement.

Improving oneself is a vast category populated by many details that may at first glimpse, be overlooked when contemplating the topic.

One would presumably entertain self improvement in the physical realm. Proper nutrition, exercise and sleep habits all get flagged in first considerations. Some go to extremes in these areas, others try to artificially bypass those scenarios through voluntary surgeries or similar.

Mental stimulation is another likely candidate. Learning, growing, evolving through our exposure to outside stimuli and leveraging that knowledge to expand our horizon, is of equal engagement.

Once we have eliminated the physical and mental improvements, many might feel satiated and therefore feel they need nothing further, but the reality is, that is so far from the truth.

Spiritual awakening is another very important category. In my opinion this does not mean belonging to a religion and instantly presuming that the lessons learned within are instantly assimilated. I believe it means that you have a greater awakening to the much larger picture of who we are, why are we here, what is our purpose, and how are we best served in expanding upon those variables.

Finding a way to be of service falls within these considerations. Whether that is volunteering at a place that helps underprivileged people, or offering a mentorship to someone who can learn from your knowledge and expertise, or just going out of your way for family and friends must also be a part of your growth rituals.

Working through the mental stress that comes from a society that is in continuous flux due to the unreliable nature of human personalities becomes yet another category. Learning to accept the flaws in others, while still loving and admiring them. Navigating your way through the legal systems that are as protective as they are destructive. Standing up for what you believe in, even if it is not entirely popular with all.

The list for growth is exponentially long, as all of the categories above have hundreds of subcategories which would require exploration in a more lengthy exploration of this topic.

If you are not continuously self improving, you are slowly dying.

When you live every day believing that one simple truth, you will continue to evolve and the right people will attract to you and those who are not inclined to your values will grow further distant.

Happy Wednesday!
