It’s better to walk alone, than with a crowd going in the wrong direction.
Are you comfortable enough with your own perspective to stand alone when others are parading quickly towards a destination that you do not agree with?
Do you have the moral conviction paired with the ability for critical thinking, research and common sense to stand apart and know in your heart that what you profess to be true, is in fact, true?
It is uncomfortable going against the grain of society.
It leaves us feeling isolated at times, disappointed at others, and absolutely terrified at others.
When you have spent a large portion of your life learning, growing, and forming an independent ability to assess circumstances and facts and then, to act upon them, it is most difficult to just stand by passively and watch while others parade directly in an opposite direction, not of our choosing.
We are living in a time where intelligence is being subverted in favor of crowd noise. Media has confused the situation, turning everyone with a cell phone into a would be pseudo journalist, capable of making media that is (sadly) persuasive and compelling, regardless of whether it is factual, logical or even based in the same reality that the rest of us are living within.
When this is paired with a world in which less education will suffice for a large volume of human beings, we are heading into a future that will be dominated by those who control the media, and thereby control the minds of those who are gullible enough to accept what they are watching as the truth.
When a giant comes along and purchases a giant media pedestal upon which to spew their continuous garbage, there is a large volume of humanity who are readily willing to accept all of the lies as truths, and within a period of time, their perception of reality is vastly disparate from the truth.
As they start to act, and others follow suit, will you readily become a lemming and run headstrong in a direction that does not correlate with what you know to be true?
We are living through the most tenuous moments of the modern age.
In this moment, we must search within and determine whom we are and what we truly stand for.
So I walk alone (sometimes). Because the crowd is clearly going in the wrong direction.
Happy Thursday!
