A lot of people benefited from you playing small most of your life. That chapter is over. Step into who you are. Take up space.

As you progress through your career, you will almost inevitably fall victim to those who will leverage you, without concern for you, your value, or your long term or short term benefit.

When we feel used by others, it creates a friction that is inescapable in its caustic abrasion of our ego and self-worth. In those moments, there is a portion of us that is so inflamed from the irritation as to catapult us into behaviors we would not normally believe was possible.

The majority of these are negative and not worthy of our time, nor our esteem to pursue, but the one ramification of such an experience that is positive, is the impetus it creates within us to elevate ourselves to higher status, so as to preclude such an experience from transpiring in the future.

When we know we are being under utilized or over utilized, but unfairly credited with the components which are directly attributable to the contributions we have made personally, it is quite normal to feel used, or at a minimum, overlooked, generating a range of emotions that have transformative power to either set us off on a negative emotional tangent, or to galvanize our internal being to mature and evolve.

The first stage of making this moment a positive one is to establish a maturity component that recognizes the situation, and which comforts the inner child which feels abused for the treatment and compartmentalize those feelings privately, in order to make way for a much more mature approach that takes personal inventory, evaluates how and/or why this treatment has befallen us…. And most importantly, make a promise to ourselves that this will be the galvanization variable that escalates us into maturing into our higher self.

When we are feeling low and disappointed, we are less likely to rise to our true essence. We are feeling insignificant, overlooked and more likely to resign.

The secret at such a moment is to summon that internal discomfort and use your strongest alchemy to convert that from a feeling of being estranged to a feeling of empowerment that will drive you to step up to whom you truly are.

Take up space.

Happy Friday!
