Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.

Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.

Is the opinion that others have of you, important to you?

When you make key decisions in your life, does it always filter through such a concern?

As we are continuously working our pathway through life, we are often times dissuaded from choices we might have made differently, had we not contemplated outside opinion in the course of our having to do so.

This complicates our situation, clouds our decisions, and in many cases, potentially derails opportunities and growth chapters of our lives, by influencing us to needlessly modify our behavior in favor of what we believe others might deem most appropriate in such a circumstance.

What does this ultimately amount to when we reflect backwards and anticipate what we might have opted to do differently?

Our unique ability to ultimately review options and make necessary choices may be better served (under certain circumstances), taking a backseat to common wisdom… but at some point, the necessity to fully accelerate in the direction of our choosing, could not be more important to our individuality and our personal growth.

We are well-served to hasten the caution of others, and then ultimately make up our own minds on everything, regardless of whether we believe that in our having done so, that others will judge us and view us negatively.

Happy Tuesday!
