The longer you entertain what’s not for you, the longer you postpone what is.
How long are you willing to sit around waiting for your world to improve?
Whether you are in a relationship that no longer works, a career that is floundering, a job that is meaningless, or any other diversion from you achieving your destiny, you are continuously postponing your future by accepting the status quo.
At some point, you must awaken to the fact that “one day you’ll find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run. You missed the starting gun.”
You must wake up to the reality that you are settling for less than you believe you are capable of or that you deserve and you must take action on that perspective and react appropriately.
In that moment of clarity, we create a detachment from what we have come to accept as being so, and discard that perspective in favor of what is likely to become.
When you hit the epiphany, you see an alternate future, very much akin to having an experience in an alternate multiverse in which your world looks similar but you are a different person within it. (See Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. If this film puzzled you, ignore this reference.)
In your alternate multiverse you are now free of the encumbrance of having been shackled by the wrong relationship, career opportunity or similar and your burdens have been removed in favor of alternative opportunities that reflect the vision you hold as being viable on your best interests.
So what happens if you make that change, and you are less happy than you were?
There is always a case of the grass being greener. If that is the case, then learn from that pivot and pivot again. This time in a more focused direction that reflects the lessons learned from what you had just experienced in making the changes you implemented.
The course we travel in life is convoluted on its best days. It is fraught with conflict, disappointment, and a continuous disparity between what we believe will be true, versus the actual truth itself.
You are never ever going to have everything that is right for you. You may get very close and live an amazing life, but most assuredly, it will not happen without you taking corrective steps along the way, and ensuring that you are the very best work in progress you can possibly be!
Happy Thursday!
