There are two vices much darker and more serious than the rest: lack of persistence and lack of self-control.
Are you, by nature, persistent?
Do you envision your outcome and stay on track to achieve it against any evidence to the contrary?
When you are persistent, your ability to recognize that the key to being indomitable is your mental acuity and focus. Only then will you be able to ultimately leverage your suite of skills to your greatest potential benefit.
When we are continuously distracting from enticing passtimes and anything that can keep us from maintaining our focus, we are ultimately demonstrating that our self control is stronger than our desire for distraction.
This simple variable is often times the delineating factor between success and a majority of the attempts to achieve success.
When we are clear as to which factor provides us the greatest stimuli that is most likely to cause our distraction, we are well on our way to holding that variable within our supervision, such that we are only seldom, taken by its alluring qualities.
Having an understanding that one’s persistence, paired with one’s ability to maintain self-control, are two of the most important variables upon which we might hold ourselves accountable, we find ourselves at the juncture between self regulation and self indulgence.
Our internal barometer of success, as we are more mature and more capable of distinguishing between the two, must focus on the path to the generation of our greater being.
Only through that perspective will we ever truly achieve the greatness towards which we aspire.
Maintaining self-control, while simultaneously escalating our persistence are critical to the greater formula of success.
Happy Tuesday!
