ORSON SCOTT CARD
Do you seek the counsel of others?
When they offer their perspective, how willing are you to entertain the prospects of their solutions being better than those of your own?
If you are secure and confident about whom you truly are, you will find great advantage in opening your world to the advice and counsel of the people in your inner circle whom you are most willing to trust.
No matter how wise, intelligent and thorough someone may be, there is always room for another mind (of value) to interact with and seek alternate vantage points from.
We become very comfortable in the expectation that our mind will be capable of tackling any variable that may cross its path.
We are quick to discover that if we are more willing to engage capable peers in our discovery and decision making processes that we are that much more able to accelerate with greater degrees of certainty and accuracy.
Our final outcome may very well resemble exactly what we had forecast on our own, but sometimes, the ability to interact with others facilitates a brainstorm which yields fruits of inestimable value.
Some of these may be relevant in the current situation, while others may well find their value at a later date, but the cathartic experience of discussing a topic with someone who understands the topic also facilitates the ability for our minds to unravel the mystery we are solving through the simple act of articulating it.
If you are willing to accept that your solutions may not be the very best option, you may well discover that in your discussions with others, you are actually stepping up your game.
Happy Friday!
