It is amazing how many people are ashamed of their bodies and how few of their minds.
LIFEMELLO
Which are you more likely to workout on a daily basis, your mind or your body?
The society in which we live, values physical assets on many levels. Madison Avenue has trained us for decades to be concerned about our physical appearance, lest others will not feel as communal and friendly with us.
They teach us what to wear, how to look, how to smell, how to wear our hair and offer us countless ways of making improvements to our physical appearance.
In this time, we are equally capable of improving our thought process by learning new things, traveling, discovering new aspects of the world in which we live.
We have countless options to expand our mind.
The internet put the entire world of knowledge at our disposal. This single, most remarkable evolution of man-made knowledge ubiquitous and readily available to anyone with a desire to grow.
In the age when Leonardo da Vinci lived, there were periodic scrolls that might find their way to Italy from the ancient Greeks and civilizations from the Middle East which would convey new information for others to revel in, if they only had a chance to see and read them (assuming they could read at all).
In our current society, there are those who recognize this sad quality about human values and have put the most heinous plans in place to exploit this in any way that they might. They recognize that culture has shifted from admiring the intelligent people to admiring celebrities and sports stars. In the vacuum of this transition from reveling in the wisdom of the elders in favor of the adulation of the young and beautiful, despicable people have leveraged this vulnerability in favor of making a segment of society scorn the intelligence surrounding them, and look down on intellectuals, as if they were less than desirable.
The sad truth of the paradigm shift that such a choice creates, is the complete potential of the exploitation of the world’s resources and leveraging them to the aggregated benefit of a tiny, select few, while leaving the rest of the world enslaved by their own ignorance.
There is still time for us to awaken to this continuous push towards human bondage and fight back with knowledge, awareness, and a determination to be self-reliant in our efforts towards growth.
Take the time to read, to explore, to think… do a mental workout several times a day. Find topics that fascinate you and dive deep into them and ponder what they have to teach you. Leverage the vast wealth that the internet has provided and find things that are stimulating in ways that will foster you becoming who you most want to become.
And while you are doing all of this mental growth, do not forget to workout your body as well. For the mind is a prisoner in a body that is not fully capable of participating. So leverage your time to nurture both, ignore the direct and subliminal messages that media sends you about your physical appearance, and workout your brain in dynamic ways.
Happy Thursday!
