I am slowly becoming the person I should’ve been a long time ago.

I am slowly becoming the person I should’ve been a long time ago.

Why is it that it takes us a lifetime to become whom we wish to have been, long past?

Given that we are all a work in progress, (except for those days when we are a work in digress), we are continually amassing disparate life experiences, which help us to mature into territories which most need our attention.

Yet the ongoing catharsis in which we all participate, facilitates our ability to continually study others and learn things about them that have worked, such that we might be more capable of leveraging some of those qualities in ourselves, in order that we might mature into becoming the person we are most desirous of being.

It is our continuous attention to these details in life which fuel the early seeds of thought and which give ample room for those to germinate into philosophies, ideologies, life practices, traditions, and morals.

With this continuous evolution working silently behind the scenes on a daily basis, we find ourselves in a continuous state of metamorphosis.

In our quest, to mature intelligently, and to live to become the greatest version of ourselves possible, we awaken to the parts of our core being which may require fine-tuning (or a complete overhaul as the case might be).

The first step of this metamorphosis is to recognize the deeply ingrained behavior, which operates, almost as if on auto pilot, and which ultimately gives us opportunity to learn how and why some of those behaviors are not working to our greatest personal benefit.

It would be nice to have started life with all of this knowledge and skill, yet, the opportunity to live it and learn empirically, will ultimately prove the most valuable of all life lessons… one in which we are capable of continuously evolving in ways that will influence our maturation, and which will continue to sculpt our future selves.

Happy Sunday!
