When you look at someone whom you believe that you know very well, do you believe that you know all or most of what there is to know about that person?
Would it surprise you to discover that you probably only know a segment?
When we are presumptive that we already know that which is necessary or appropriate to be known about another person, we are extraordinarily pleased when we discover something new and compelling about them that we might not have known prior…or conversely, we may be shocked to discover there are components of them which we do not know at all and perhaps we probably would prefer that we didn’t.
Human beings are a continuous stream of variables, each of which constitute an exterior persona which gives the majority of us an opportunity to believe that we have a good sense of whom they are and what we are relating to about them.
That said, it is often times quite disappointing to drill a bit deeper and determine that there are unquestionably qualities about another person which we might never have suspected, had we not found ourselves embroiled in some variable or another with them. Such a variable may give rise to that side of their personality awakening, giving more airspace to the hidden side of their being.
When we are dealing with humans of such complexity and willful determination, it becomes considerably easier for us to believe that we are fully awake to the more hidden side of another person and yet it might be one small variable that can unlock an entire segment of another person you have never seen.
When you think about how many sides of you are readily available for others to be aware of, then start to contemplate a lot of the interests that you have which are are less known and far less likely to be brought to anyone’s awareness, unless something very specific were to trigger it, you have a greater perspective at how complicated many others are.
Only under those kind of remote variables, would anybody even likely discover you have an interest in something highly specific.
Never presume that you truly fully know another person, for upon closer inspection, you will almost inevitably discover chapters within them that you might not have ever have even known, existed.
Happy Tuesday!
