A seed grows with no sound, but a tree falls with huge noise. Destruction has a noise, but creation is quiet. That is the power of silence… Grow silently.

A seed grows with no sound, but a tree falls with huge noise. Destruction has a noise, but creation is quiet. That is the power of silence… Grow silently.

How are you growing on a daily basis?

Are you continually exposing yourself to new territory in whatever areas you were hoping to grow?

In your exposure, are you unearththing new opportunities in which you can grow stronger, smarter, wiser, and ultimately, more capable?

Where in your daily pattern have you allotted for the pre-requisite time required for significant growth?

Do you have a set aside space in your schedule or do you try to assimilate your growth wherever you can get it, whenever you might get it?

Growth requires continuous effort and dedication. With each and every breath, we are one step closer to all that we are aspiring towards. With that aspiration comes expectations, and only through the diligence of growth, and the persistence and consistency of practicing that which we are learning, will we ever arrive at the completion of any one of these particular aspirations.

Life is a continuous cycle of various energies, each of which competes for our time, focus, effort and internal budget of every other component required, such that we might actually achieve our most important goals.

A large tree falling in the forest does make a very big sound. Our internal fear of failure sets us up, in part like that tree. We have a giant fear of failing publicly and as a result, we are that much more likely to hedge our efforts with other options for fear that we might come crashing down.

The truth is, taking all of the energy you can possibly muster, and focusing all of it on your core goal could not be more important. In that choice, we are making a solemn commitment to ourselves that this goal is so important that we will put all of our energy towards it, and remain unflinching until such time as it has been accomplished or surpassed.

Life is a continuous balance of all of our responsibilities in relationship to all of our needs, and our hopes and our expectations. In that balance, we work regularly to achieve an equilibrium to facilitate our homogenous existence in the life that we are living.

Never stop growing. It is truly the life force that keeps us alive.

Happy Saturday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
