At a certain point, when all of the other variables are removed, all that one is left relying upon is one’s own ability. Would you not agree?

From birth we are engaged in a continuous process of expanding our ability through a host of methods, choices and lessons.

When COVID-19 hit and we were sequestered, it opened a window for all of us to potentially dig deep and expand our ability through Audible, YouTube, MasterClass and do not forget books!

But at a certain point, you awaken to the fact that the only thing that will carry the day is whether or not your ability lives up to the moment.

I believe that life challenges us in many ways, some are very pleasant and others are exactly the opposite. But in the course of being put to those challenges, we are given our internal litmus test as to our true wherewithal and whether we like the answer that we receive at that moment or not, it is in fact feedback as to the essence of what we are truly made of.

If we do not like the results, we are always capable of working harder to improve whatever weakness we discover at this moment. That is the magic of life. Do not ever get discouraged by the results, use them as benchmarks and accelerate into whatever capability you envision for yourself.

I set my alarm for 4:15 this morning and drove down to the beach so that I might be the only person in the city of 10 million people enjoying one of the greatest houses of worship Southern California has to offer. Wishing you an exquisite Sunday???

QUESTION FOR TODAY: Do you agree that it is important to trust your ability?

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
