Be the reason that someone believes in the goodness of people.

Are you an exemplary role model?

There’s no minimum age required…Only an understanding of how to behave in a manner that others will both recognize and wish to emulate.

If you have discovered some of the greater secrets in life, are you willing to share them with others?

Do you feel threatened that if you teach others to be as good or better than you are, that you will be a lesser being? When you walk the talk, do others pay attention and commend you for your transparent, positive behavior?

When we inspire another human being to do better than what they have thus far been able to accomplish, are we not on many levels perpetuating the human race? This may sound a bit lofty, but the truth is, with each and every being, the human race perpetuates.

Across the multitude of verticals in which success is personified, there are so many misunderstood components to being successful in life. So if we are in possession of some of the better skill sets, wouldn’t it make sense for us to share those with others, such that they might grow to be even more valuable to society than they might have been prior to your teaching them?

There are so many dark chapters in life. If you are capable of being a luminous chapter in someone else’s existence, it is actually a privilege that life is affording you to leverage your greater capabilities to the benefit of others.

In addition, we often discover that we learn by teaching others. Therefore, in the process of spreading some of our core knowledge, part of what is actually being accomplished, is a reinforcement within ourselves of the pre-requisite skills needed to be an exemplary role model in society.

So the next time life provides you an opportunity to demonstrate proper conduct, thought process or behavior, try with an open heart to allow yourself to put that information out there with zero expectation, and watch what comes of it. You will see within a reasonable period of time that those who are looking up to you will find your behavior inspirational, and as a consequence, they will evolve into even more sentient human beings.

Happy Saturday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
