Bono – America May Be The Song The World Has Yet To Hear.

Bono

Bono delivered the second quote that I picked up from the graduation ceremony for the class of 2020 on YouTube this weekend.

Bono was being interviewed and he was expressing his hope and optimism that the greatest chapter for America lies right in front of us.

I love the optimism in that thought process, especially given what we are living through.

I would like to be very instrumental in helping America navigate its way into that chapter. A chapter that includes people of all nationalities celebrating our differences and coming together as we have, decade after decade in this country… and building a brighter future for children here at home, while sharing our generosity and compassion around the world.

Given some of the variables that currently appear oppressive to us, it would be easy to adopt a pessimistic perspective as to a future that looks this bright. But I would counter that pessimism with the reality that I’m sure it looked equally dire during the great depression or either of the world wars.

There is something uniquely American about our particular brand of optimism and general compassion that we, as a nation, work to improve upon.

With that in mind, I hope everyone finds that extra strength to continue to believe that our country has that magic quality and that we work even harder going forward to never let that magic die.

I truly hope that America is the next great song that the world has yet to hear and that our music, which emanates from our enlightened souls, is pervasive in continuing to spread hope, optimism and security worldwide.

Once again it is a gorgeous day and I hope it brings you tremendous joy and fulfillment?

QUESTION FOR TODAY: Bono is such a successful role model/philanthropist. What do you think his career achievement to date is?

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
