I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am grateful to these teachers.
If you are living for tomorrow, you will always be one day behind.
Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than everyone else expects of you. Never excuse yourself. Never pity yourself. Be a hard master to yourself and be lenient to everybody else.
Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose a response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life.
I was taught that the human brain was the crowning glory of evolution so far, but I think it’s a very poor scheme for survival.
Where words fail, music speaks.
I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.
I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples.
