Lessons From The Mountain
When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, This you may not read; This you must not see; This you are forbidden to know, the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives.
Dying is only one thing to be unhappy about. Living unhappily is another.
War itself is, of course, a form of madness. It’s hardly a civilized pursuit. It’s amazing how we spend so much time inventing devices to kill each other and so little time working on how to achieve peace.
A path opens to those who are honest.
Sometimes the messenger has to become the message.
Never measure the height of a mountain until you have reached the top. Then you will see how low it was.
Doing the right thing doesn’t automatically bring success. But compromising ethics almost always leads to failure.
Follow your dreams. They know the way.
I’d rather live next-door to someone who crossed a desert to become an American, rather than an American who wouldn’t cross the street to help a foreigner.
Life is hard. Life is difficult. Life is going to punch you in the gut. But when you change your attitude, you change your behavior. When your behavior changes, so do your results.
