Every man should frame life so that at some future hour, fact and his dreaming meet.

Every man should frame life so that at some future hour, fact and his dreaming meet.
VICTOR HUGO
Have you orchestrated your life so that your dreams manifest into reality?
This aphorism from Victor Hugo is one of my all-time favorites. It stands as a continuous reinforcement of how important it is to make a life ultimately fulfilling by taking diligent efforts on a daily basis to ensure that every component of your projected future will actually materialize.
Given the myriad dreams of all the people on this planet, there is no one sure-fire solution to guarantee that such an eventuality will transpire. That said, there are so many appropriate good practices to be employed as to warrant each of us paying attention to whether or not we are accelerating into a future of our making.
People who accomplish the unaccomplishable are only able to do so because they don’t believe in the word unaccomplishable. In fact, this is not even a real word, I just made it up for this purpose. Yet, so many people believe the core essence of this word to reign over their lives with certainty to ensure that their biggest dreams will never come true.
What is the difference between one person who can visualize a future and turn that into reality versus another person who comes up with a dream but does not act upon it? We can chart numerous variables such as birthright, privilege, capital, resources, determination, fortitude, intelligence, health and mental state of being. That said, there is almost always an exception for every single one of these qualities in which a human being was able to accelerate to the highest levels without interference.
Is that due to luck? Sometimes. Is it due to planning and determination? Sometimes. What ultimately is the factor that is common amongst every single one of these variables and instances of success?
If I had to isolate one particular variable is common to almost every single one of these occurrences, it would have to be determination. If a person is truly determined to excel far above and beyond their own strata of accomplishment, the only way that I have found to ensure that eventuality is tenacity and fortitude… which are the core ingredients of determination.
In writing Les Miserables, Victor Hugo led the path for so many other authors to lay bare the core injustices that were part of the current world he inhabited. I’m sure as he was contemplating his thought behind today’s aphorism, he must’ve had Jean Valjean as the protagonist who must embrace this philosophy. And with that, I bring you Hugh Jackman expressing his core belief of justice in the face of opportunity to avoid such.
By taking the highroad in life, eventually Jean Valjean meets the future he had always envisioned for himself.
Happy Saturday!
