If you only carry one thing throughout your entire life, let it be hope. Let it be hope that better things are always ahead. Let it be hope that you can get through even the toughest of times. Let it be hope that you can get through any challenge that comes your way. Let it be hope that you are exactly where you are meant to be right now, and that you are on the path to where you are meant to be… Because during these times, hope will be the very thing that carries you through.

As a devout optimist, I would readily admit that hope is my best friend, my ally, my mentor, my inspiration, my fuel.
On the darkest of hours, hope is the only tool in my arsenal that is capable of elevating me back into my game, and enabling me to find the strength needed to face whatever is impeding my progress.
Hope allows me to find courage, solace, comfort, determination, and the prerequisite energy to take complete charge of the part of my world that has me down.
The interesting thing about hope is that it is highly contagious. A skilled optimist can transfer their hope to another person through intelligent and convincing communication. It may be accomplished through an idea, or sharing information, a video or other.
Sometimes hope is transmitted through a genuine hug. In that hug, nonverbal communication transmits from one party to another and resonates with them in ways that words might never achieve.
Hope defines the human race. As we are sentient, and fully aware of our presence and the significance of our presence on this planet in this lifetime, hope propels our specie to ever greater accomplishments, most of which is spawned out of a desire to make a world for our children that is happier and more optimistic than the world, we ourselves, have lived.
So, when someone is at their lowest low, where is this magic hope going to come from? There are times when hope seems almost an impossibility. I believe this stems from the personality of the one seeking it. I have witnessed people who were suffering through the worst of diseases who leveraged hope in their favor and facilitated some levels of improvement in their condition for the efforts they expended.
I have seen teams that were down for the count, with almost no chance to win, pull it out of the hat at the miraculous last second through a collective determination that they were still able to make their magic, even when it all looked dismally impossible. I’ve seen prize fighters who looked ready to crumble, pull one last ounce of energy out of their being, and rise to the challenge. Olympians who were underdogs finding that spark of hope at the right moment and outperforming any prior score or performance that they had ever done prior.
Inventors who risk everything to bring a monumental product to life are forced to stare down competition, accept the stifling intensity caused by lack of funds, weather collective societal doubt, and rebuff all financial scrutiny stating how obvious it was for them to concede. People like me are looking straight down the barrel of failure, day after day, until that gun barrel disappears entirely.
Why bother living a life consisting of those chapters, when it would be so much easier to take the more safe and secure route? The answer, my friends, is hope. If Source plants a dream in your being, it is so loud, so all consuming, so pervasive in its presence that it becomes impossible to ignore. It wells up inside of you and ensures that you are never going to rest, never going to let go of this concept until you have manifest it into reality. Hope is the fuel that drives all of that into existence.
So the next time you respond, “I hope so,” recognize the power of what you have just said, for in those 3 magic words, you have planted a seed in your mind that could become the most driving force of your entire being.
Happy Tuesday!
