Faith is the daring of the soul to go farther than it can see.

WILLIAM CLARKE

When was the last time you jumped completely headfirst into the unknown?

Were you terrified of the potential outcome? Or did you presume that you would find a way to solve the problem, when or if you encountered it?

As we explore our greatest desires, we will inevitably come face-to-face, with circumstances and variables well beyond our control. As we work to confront each and everyone of these, we are maturing our skill sets, and improving our ability to continually sync decisively at critical junctures, and then act in accord.

It is only through our greatest abilities to encounter and engage obstacles that we are fully capable of leveraging our internal resources to ensure that whichever leap of faith we have taken will result in a positive outcome.

If these circumstances strike you as being overtly brave and unacceptable in terms of your own willingness to tolerate risk of any kind, then it becomes incumbent upon you to set a specific parameter within which you are willing to operate.

This is traditionally known as a comfort zone. Almost everyone has some form of a comfort zone within which they make their core decisions. In many cases, it has been my experience that my greatest life joys have been discovered directly outside my comfort zone.

When I am willing to assume responsibility for something that I do not know if I am ready to champion, I have often times learned details about myself that I had never been given the opportunity to discover prior, had I not taken a chance to go outside the limitations that I was willing to confine myself within.

We are a continuous work in progress. It is only through our diligent exploration of territories heretofore unknown, that we ultimately grow and mature into whom we are truly destined to become.

Learning these details about ourselves, enables us the latitude to increase our power and our influence.

Accordingly, when you are heading headfirst into the unknown, faith in yourself is truly your most valuable resource.

Happy Saturday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
