Fear is certainly the ultimate motivating variable. It has the ability to accelerate a human being into superhuman strength as is the case of a woman who is suddenly able to lift a car that is pinning her child underneath using sheer adrenaline.

It is also one of the most debilitating variables in life, frightening many human beings from ever going outside of their comfort zone in order to potentially accomplish something of greater magnitude.

Every human being experiences it. Whether it is the trepidation that one feels prior to taking a final exam, getting on stage and speaking to people, being respectfully defensive when someone is encroaching your territory, or created by other stimuli.

In each and every case, whether we are comfortable dealing with this fear or not, the fear remains a driving force to stimulate behavior.

Having opportunities to prevail past the point of the fear facilitates the strength to find internal fortitude to stand up against the next one. It’s just how life works, regardless of how uncomfortable or miserable this fear makes us.

2020 has opened with an ensemble of fear that has been unprecedented in most of our lifetimes. Between COVID-19, the riots, murder hornets, earthquakes in Yellowstone, an astroid that passed right near earth this last weekend, there is always an opportunity to find that stimuli and decide how to cope.

I wish I could report to you that I have found the ultimate recipe for dealing with this, but I live with fear every day. And to the point of this particular quotation, it is a driving factor that has compelled me to grow in countless ways.

I would never say that I am grateful for having had to experience fear, but I would say that I am grateful for how I have evolved as a result of it.

I hope you have a fearless Wednesday full of nothing but positive stimulating experiences!???

Throughout my career, the pounding in my heart, the fright has been ever present, but never turned back. Fear can be a highly motivational part of the journey. Nina Tassler

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
