Have a good heart and healthy boundaries. Otherwise, your life is for everyone else and you lose yourself. Kindness is everything, but setting limits allows you to remain true to who you are.

KRISTEN BUTLER
Where do you set your personal boundaries?
When someone approaches you, do you always help them? Or at a certain point, do you draw a line?
Protecting ourselves from a continuous stream of people that are looking for our personal input, guidance, assistance, intelligence, financial aid, or professional input is very important. If we are not aware of maintaining specific parameters, any boundary between your time, and what everybody else expects of your time… evaporates.
I find that if I know my boundaries in advance, I’m going to be less likely to interact beyond them, when the opportunity presents itself.
I maintain very specific answers in mind, so that when one of those circumstances arises, I have the resources to instantly make my boundaries to the third-party known in a polite and tactful way, such that hopefully I do not either hurt them nor alienate them in the process.
It has been my experience that there are many people who have no concept of these kinds of boundaries. Consequently, as I work to make my way in life, I am continuously trying to help everyone that I may, while simultaneously maintaining a preservation of territory that I have delineated as specifically and only mine.
In taking direct action on this choice, you create a safety zone in which you may operate on a daily basis. Simultaneously, as these parameters are potentially crossed, there is a viable and intelligent solution, to holding on to all that is ours, while simultaneously being a citizen of society with willingness and determination to be a good influence to society at large and specific individuals whom we deem worthy of our time and our resources.
Stay protective of yourself, you are all you’ve got.
Happy Friday!
