If You Correct Your Mind, The Rest Of Your Life Will Fall Into Place.

Life out of balance.

The world certainly looks like the equilibrium upon which we have come to depend is completely out of balance.

It is creating chaos and a cacophony of distractions that are very difficult to navigate. We are left with less options than we had prior and forced as a result to focus in order to find our own point of center.

I am sure that many of the luminaries whom I have chosen to feature in my morning musings have found themselves living in uncomfortable times. Times in which the doom and gloom would appear so oppressive as to preclude any optimism for the future.

I believe that in finding the secret to navigating these kinds of troubled waters, one must start with a mastery of one’s own mind. If one can bring one’s mind into balance, one is far more likely to adapt, plan, survive and ultimately thrive.

I find myself getting completely wound up by the news. It seems incomprehensible to me that so many variables are so far out of balance as to make the future look dim. The only way that I know to accelerate through a moment in time like this is to take a personal inventory, focus on a core strength, and drive headfirst towards being a part of the solution instead of being a casualty left in the wake of the exhaustive variables that surround me.

In the course of balancing your mind, you might be well served to stimulate your brain with regular doses of beauty in whatever medium connects for you. Art, music, literature, entertainment, and all other forms of joy are critical in the balance that you are trying to achieve. Somewhere inside all of that, lies your solution to balancing your mind and finding daily harmony❤️

(By the way, as I am typing this, there is a jackhammer right outside of my house that is creating complete cacophony. ?Just tune into a different frequency?)

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
