It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.

ARISTOTLE

What was the darkest moment you lived through before you were able to focus and see the light?

When we are weathering the hardest chapters of our lives, we are hard-pressed to find any light whatsoever. The ominous presence of whatever it is that is making our life so tenuous and difficult is sometimes so overwhelming as to overshadow and completely eliminate, even the tiniest rays of light from breaking through.

When we hit such a moment in our lives, we are well-served to recognize that there will be light once again, and to enable ourselves to prepare mentally for that truth to manifest and illuminate the next chapter ahead of us.

There are often times core struggles that may weight us down and preclude our thought process from anything less than trying desperately to hold on under those circumstances.

It is excruciating and leaves most of us in a position of working with every resource we may conjure to find a coping mechanism sufficient enough to tide us over until such time as we are able to cultivate the necessary variables in our world to our greatest benefit.

But how exactly is this accomplished in moments of extreme duress?

What is it that we can look for in these difficult moments where we may find the inner strength, required to tread water, and keep ourselves from drowning in the darkness?

For many people, it is their faith in their savior and their reliance upon such gives them the internal strength to stand. For others, there are a multitude of other systems which leverage an understanding of the energy forces in life, and which ultimately give their internal being enough sustenance, that it may hold on and thrive as the continuous onslaught of variables weighs heavily down upon them.

In all cases, there is a mental acuity that is continuously speaking to the party and giving them hope and confidence that if they are willing to sustain, and weather the current circumstances, there will be better days ahead.

Whichever your choice of solutions, when you hit a dark chapter of your life, and you are hoping to find the answer to get you through, keep believing that the brilliance that you see, is just around the corner, waiting to brighten your world with its luminous presence.

Happy Saturday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
