It’s going to be bigger than you thought, it’s going to happen quicker than you imagined.

Catapulting a dream into reality is one of life’s most precious experiences. Dreams come in all sizes. They are as elaborate or as minute as one’s vision and aspiration dictates.

Regardless the size, a dream is the impetus that launches a series of behaviors. And in that experience comes the remarkable opportunity to grow. Growth requires energy to be expended on faith. So at the moment that one opts to pursue the dream, everything thereafter is an elaborate series of actions aiming towards a hope that can propel one in the right direction.

Last night, the remarkable and legendary Lakers franchise achieved another dream come true, tying them with Boston for the most NBA championships won.

Making something of that magnitude happen in the course of a pandemic only further added to the sweetness of the incredible outcome. The intensity and hard work of that franchise has been an inspiration to me since I was a very little boy and watching their determination and dedication has always been incredibly influential in formulating my belief system that if one sets one’s mind to a goal, one is able to accomplish anything that one wishes to accomplish.

It is easy to fall into a funk during this pandemic. It can be incredibly emotionally debilitating in countless ways. But I think it is valuable to remember that after the plague came the Renaissance.

With that in mind, intelligence, dedication, perseverance, determination, integrity, and an intense resolution to stay the course no matter how trepidatious it might appear, is the recipe for success.

For at the end of the day, belief in oneself is everything.

Only then is one able to truly reap the rewards and look backwards to see the vast journey that one has traveled mentally, physically and emotionally to get to the metaphorical promised land.

Stay the course, it will be most worth it!

Happy Monday😊 and happy Indigenous People’s Day or Columbus Day whichever you happen to be celebrating🥂

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
