It’s always wise to listen to your heart.
I would tell you that it is seldom wrong, but that’s not true.
Taking the safe path in life is certainly easier and it does not come with the same roller coaster experience as following your heart.
But sometimes, the roller coaster is the very best of all of life experiences. I suppose it forces us to continually make a decision between doing what you believe in versus doing what is safe.
There was a scene in a movie called Mr. Jones starring Richard Gere and Lena Olin in which Richard Gere is a manic depressive who is taken to a mental hospital in one of his depressive states and find himself being perpetually medicated.
The metaphor that I took away from the scene is the same as listening to reason and caution vs.
doing what your heart tells you is necessary for your happiness.
