Jump Off The Cliff And Build Your Wings On The Way Down.
Sometimes in life you just have to go for it. No guarantees. No assurances. Not even the prospect that there is a safe landing.
Taking the jump is trepidatious at best, but the alternative, living a life of assured boredom, seems the greater potential casualty.
We watch others break through, and in their success, we see a formula that can propel us to new heights of life experiences. I think that is the catalytic element that drives us to take the jump. It is seldom made out of recklessness and in most cases made out of some inspiration from another person that gave us confidence that there could potentially be a safe landing.
Once your feet have left solid ground, and you know that all that is left is your ability to figure out how to fly, I think that is the moment you really start to discover what you are made of. You instantly recognize your shortcomings and you must confront and overcome them while simultaneously fending off the metaphorical pull of gravity.
There is both an incredible rush of exhilaration in the process, paired with a massive fear of the “what if” while you are going through the plunge.
Sometimes we sprout wings along the way, other times we discover what it feels like to hit the ground. In the moments when we hit the ground, we are well served to remember what it felt like to be soaring through the air, allowing us to climb back up onto a cliff and jump again.
Personally, I want to know that in my time on this planet, I jumped with intelligence and courage when the moment was right and then looked for any anti-gravitational system I could get my hands on during the fall.
Be courageous. A life lived with courage will deliver rewards far beyond your wildest imagination.
