The passive state is not always one of acceptance but it is certainly one of allowance, is it not?
This thought process extends across all of the spectrum of engagement in life. It applies to how you handle your personal relationships, professional relationships, social relationships and your friendships. It even applies to your complacency (or lack thereof) with how your world at large is behaving as well as your allowance of such.
The last 48 hours in the United States has been a vast externalization of an ongoing unwillingness to accept what is. When a society becomes oppressive, it is incumbent upon the citizens to restore a proper equilibrium using peaceful resistance, not rioting, looting and senseless violence.
This is equally true in any kind of a one on one relationship. I have watched many friends struggle with the painful realization that something in their relationship is never going to change. They seem stuck on an endless treadmill of expectations that will never be fulfilled. Their acceptance of these limiting variables, continues their cyclical experience.
With that in mind, it strikes me that one of the single most powerful things that any individual is capable of doing is self reflection with the intent of growing even more versatile than what they were the day prior.
No one wants to self correct, it takes work and introspection. It takes a desire to rise beyond acceptance and make the definitive changes, for without self correction, one is left in a neutral state.
If you find yourself in a position of continuously allowing something that is not appreciated, gentle direct communication can often times be the stimulus for change for the better. Happy Saturday????
QUESTION FOR THE DAY: What aspect of your daily experiences that you wish would improve are you greeting with a strategy of acceptance versus taking actions to better them?

Stop asking why they keep doing it and start asking why you keep allowing it.
