Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.

How have your struggles improved your strength?

When we are in the thick of it, our struggles seem oppressive and omnipresent. They drive us to whatever stage of efforts are necessary in order to either cope with, or overcome whatever is the cause of the struggle.

We are continuously feeling burdened by the weight of their impact on us and we are continuously trying to keep our life or our business in harmony while we work to overcome the struggles.

All of the energy that we are expending, in this regard, funnels directly into our strength reservoir. For in our attempts to process and defeat the issues at hand, we are unquestionably becoming that much more resolved and capable, which only continues to accelerate our internal capacity for managing these types of circumstances, and gives us ample room and opportunity to mature, and therefore grow in the process.

When we have opportunity to stand back, and truly observe all that we have overcome in our push to thwart that which was holding us backwards, we realize that we have unquestionably matured and added more overall resources to our arsenal than we might have had prior.

We are not always grateful or appreciative of the variables that sculpt us, but at the end of the day, we are all the more resilient for our having weathered such circumstances.

Happy Sunday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
