There Is Always Something You Can Do And Succeed At.

However difficult life may seem, there is always something that you can do and succeed at.

It feels like it is harder to succeed than it was in the past. The world is truly in catharsis…things seem to be changing faster than we have been capable of addressing concurrently, rendering many people displaced, fearful, apprehensive and anxious.

If you view the world through a short term perspective, this might appear to be an anomaly. An isolated moment of overwhelming variables.

But if you view the world through a much broader filter, you recognize that this is status quo. The world has always behaved like this since the human species became dominant.

You could point to many moments from the industrial revolution, technical revolution or even the simple invention of the printing press and recognize how vastly different things started to appear for those who were sitting on the sideline, hoping to succeed.

In reading this quote from Stephen Hawking, a man trapped in a mostly useless body, I find tremendous inspiration. How easy it might have been for him to wallow in self-pity. Instead, this vibrant soul found his path to success, he dug even deeper in his quest to contribute some of the most valuable and most advanced knowledge that humanity has ever encountered.

If this does not demonstrate that anybody is capable of leveraging the resources at their disposal to greater benefit, I am not sure what else could potentially be more demonstrative of this fact. When the world enters a moment of evolution, it creates tremendous discomfort for everyone, but the survivors, century after century, are the ones who were quickest to adapt, quickest to recognize the opportunity through crisis and turn circumstances to their benefit so that they may succeed, rather than see the changes as being insurmountable.

We are all left with many changes to navigate our way through over the course of a lifetime. My experience has shown me that the malleable nature of my personality had to become even more fluid in order to find my place in life. And sharing thoughts with my friends each and every day gives me both a personal reason to absorb so many brilliant thoughts from those who walked before me as well as a chance to articulate some of the thoughts of success that cross my mind in the process.

I hope you find these of value. Have a wonderful Wednesday, you deserve it! And continue to strive to define your purpose in life???

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What unique quality have you leveraged personally to further your success in life?

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
