Ten years from now, make sure you can say you chose your life, you didn’t settle for it.

Ten years from now, make sure you can say you chose your life, you didn’t settle for it.

MANDY HALE

Are you living the life you are supposed to be living right now? If not, why not? And more importantly, what are you going to do about it?

I do not know anybody who is living a life of their choosing, who has not made considerable sacrifices in the process of achieving this opportunity.

I believe that life is a trade-off, at some point, if you are looking for something of significance, you need to understand that most of those things do not just materialize out of nowhere, they come out of diligence, hard work, focus, persistence, tenacity, and most importantly, a guiding light in your internal being, keeping you magnetically focused on achieving this particular opportunity.

It is only these permutations that can deliver something of that kind of magnitude, regardless of whatever your particular desire is.

We are all very diverse and our interests, desires, and expectations of life are equally diverse. As a result, there really isn’t any particular formula that facilitates one person ultimately getting to achieve what they want… but the commonality between the majority of those formulas, as they are dissected after the fact, are all of the qualities that I just delineated.

With this drive, we are willing to let go of some of the short term, pleasures of life in order that we might zero in on the skills, talent, wherewithal, knowledge, and other ingredients, that are so necessary for anyone to accomplish their greater goals.

Life is a continuous stream of options, and how we choose to evaluate each one of them will ultimately determine our final outcome.

Happy Tuesday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
