The bond that looks like your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and involvement in each other’s lives.

Isn’t it interesting how we, as a species, are entranced by relationships and the interesting complexities that they bring to our lives?

In the animal kingdom, there are countless examples of relationships born out of both love and friendship.

Social Media was born out of the necessity to stay connected to one another and further deepen those ties.

And throughout social media, we have shared countless pictures of disparate creatures fondling and cuddling one another under unlikely circumstances.

A newborn kitten asleep on top of a giant dog’s head, and similar. There was a great photo story, years’ back about a tiger, a bear, and a lion that grew up together and became best friends.

We build these relationships and they become the construct of our lives, giving far deeper purpose and meaning and amplifying our fortitude in moments of need and giving us someone to share the joys and sorrows that make the complete human experience.

When we let someone into our heart, that friendship grows exponentially; the value and purpose it brings us is beyond definition.

If there is one thing that is incredibly clear, it is that you cannot replace someone who has known and loved you at a specific point in your life. That is a finite resource. So as you get older, your longtime friends aggregate in value far more than any investment portfolio could ever produce.

Treasure the resource and always let them know that they matter to you. Happy Saturday!❤️

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
