The moment you start acting like life is a blessing, it starts feeling like one.

The moment you start acting like life is a blessing, it starts feeling like one.

Are you living a blessed life?

Religious meaning aside, do you feel in general that your life is full of things for which you have good cause to be extensively appreciative?

Life is full of so many moments of conflict, uncertainty, trepidation, disappointment, confusion, and fear. Amidst all of this cacophony, are you able to get centered and find yourself feeling tremendous satisfaction and enjoyment for the things in your life that are fulfilling, enriching, satisfying, and rewarding?

When you wake up in the morning, are you first focused on all of the issues that are confronting you in the course of the day that lies ahead, or do you divert your attention to gratitude for all that is already within your life and for which you feel most complete, in the course of your internal inventory of non-material wealth.

Understanding these distinctions creates the best opportunity for happiness in life, because it removes the artificial layer of traditional perspective, and instead drills down to the core understanding of the pieces of the puzzle that leave us feeling most whole in our existence.

It may seem like it’s a tiny flip of a switch in your mind, and perhaps it is just that, but it is a most powerful switch, fully capable of delivering you rewards beyond physical measure, so that you are consistently living a satiated existence in which you are continually savoring all that is in your world and then holding that so close to your heart, that everything else seems minimal in comparison.

Happy Monday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
