We all know, there’s nothing they can do to stop us… as long as we keep our cool.

Do you keep cool under pressure?

The need to remain calm under the most extreme circumstances, is clearly the delineation between greatness and failure.

We are continuously cycling through countless moments in lives, in which our destiny relies entirely on our ability to retain our composure and utilize our higher level operating system to prevail.

It is simple to state such a truism, and it is another to live up to it when the stakes are extreme and the negative outcome is breathing down your neck.

How exactly does a champion go from an external world of chaos, into an internal world of positivity and calmness?

The solution starts with mental training exercises. In that regimen, the goal will always be to see the outside world for exactly what it is. No sugar coating. No delusions. Just the harsh reality. From there, the training will take you into a mental discipline in which the goal is to visualize a tranquil, safe zone in which you feel most calm, secure and in control. While you are within that sweet spot, you then choose to encounter all of the harsh reality that is coming at you, and you work to sort your options. Even if your options appear meager at best, you must understand that there is at least one option that you may gravitate towards. One that delivers you your very best opportunity for success. Combine that with a few more contingent options, and make your next move.

Once you have narrowed the field, identified your most viable options, the rest is clearly a head game. In this effort, the distraction layer of everything inconsequential is pushed backwards in your perspective, and you must entirely focus on the issue at hand.

This effort may appear minimal from an outward perspective, but internally, it is by far, the most crucial variable of them all. Your ability to eliminate all distraction, such that you only see the solutions you have established in your mind, is your elevated state of existence. In this state, you are indomitable. You have created the perfect storm within, and you are going to unleash it upon the world.

This core focus is common among all of the greatest minds in the world. Each and every one of them have come to this specific chapter of their training, and embraced it with the unique energy and internal respect it requires.

Greatness is not accidental. It is acquired through proven methodologies that are demonstrable and learnable, for any willing student to discover and grow.

Happy Monday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
