We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

BUDDHA

The last word for 2021 goes out to my friend and mentor, Buddha. While I never met the man, his influence on my life arrived in a small book of zen quotations that my mother bought for me as as a teen called, “My Little Book of Zen.”  At the time, it was just a cutesy little book (literally tiny) and each page had a thought that was for consideration. As with any of these kinds of materials, I skimmed it, found a fancy, put it on a shelf and probably rarely picked it up again.

As time passed, I found other philosophers and their books… Eckhart Tolle and The Power of Now, Esther and Jerry Hicks and The Law of Attraction, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and others. So I continued on my journey, garnering great info from the masters.

By the time I started illustrating my aphorisms, I came back around to Buddha. There was all the wisdom that the others had been teaching me. They got it from Buddha. I cannot say who Buddha got it from, but the wisdom is core to life itself. If you get what Buddha was trying to say, you have a real leg up in life.

Thoughts are omnipowerful. When you think them, you are creating a reality. One that can manifest into your real world with experience and practice. Some of the thoughts manifest without any experience whatsoever. You think it and it starts to happen.

It all seemed like a contrivance when I was first exposed to it. Forty years later, it is far from a contrivance, it is as real as the air we breath and the sun that shines. Your thoughts have infinite power. If you think them, you will manifest them, so be careful what you spend a lot of time thinking about.

If you can find the joy in life through the things that really matter, you will discover that your life becomes infinitely wealthy. In contrast, I have had moments in my life where I had millions of dollars in the bank, but zero happiness in my soul, and conversely, I have had zero in the bank and felt some of the happiest exhilaration that I can remember. When your mind is joyous, the rest of your life follows suit.

2022 is going to be a pivotal year for the world. Truly the forces of good and evil are lined up waiting for their giant clash for dominance of our country. It is a moment to find your deep, inner being and embrace them for all that they are worth. Your life could very well change next year. I know I have huge plans for mine to do so.

As Sizzle rolls into 2022 with a massive new strategic partner, our future has never looked brighter, nor our opportunities more vast.

I hope for each and every one of you that your thoughts are taking you to where you really wish to be. If they are not, just change your thinking. Focus on what matters. Envision it happening. See yourself in that space with the alternate reality feeling as real and tangible as you might hope for.

Continue to visualize this with everything you’ve got. Do not let up on that perspective.

People say that I am tenacious. John calls me, Tenacious B.

I suppose there is truth to that. I have known that there is a calling for me to fulfill and I will be damned if I do not pursue it with every last ounce of my fiber.

There is a calling for you as well. Visualize it. Think about it. Plan for it. Expect it. Never let up. Ever.

Then it will manifest. It is just the way that the world and consciousness work.

That which is like unto oneself is drawn.

It is an immutable fact.

See you in 2022.

Wishing you a joyous New Year’s Eve!!!!

And I’m closing with one of my all-time favorite songs❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
