What is the significance of 11:11?

And why is it that so many different people from so many different cultures have noticed this point in time and are continuously aware of it, once or twice a day?

There are numerous explanations, most of which do not bear any scientific validity, but each of which are the cornerstone of beliefs that have arisen through different cultures over the course of time. The answers are rooted in numerology…the study of the occult significance of numbers. This appears in astrology, mysticism and among fortune tellers, as well as found in several religions from the ancient Greeks and early Christians in which the number one, and especially the number 11, stands for perfection, unity and wholeness.

Spiritualists will explain the significance of looking at the clock and seeing that it is 11:11  on one or more consecutive days as the phenomenon of seeing the mirror of twin numbers. In addition, Numerology attaches a significance to to the number 11 in particular: it represents a new beginning, the start of a new phase of life, or the imminence of a positive event. So when you look at the clock and the two twin numbers face you, according to numerology, the universe wants to give you the supportive signal you may have needed at that moment.

When people see 11:11, they are prone to making a wish or focusing a concentrated thought towards something of consequence such that they are leveraging a key minute out of the day to service a higher thought, higher consciousness, and collective unity between those who are regularly witnessing such a moment in their day.

When you see 11:11, you might use that minute to get quiet, take inventory of the aspects of your life that give you great satisfaction and concentrate on connecting with your higher self, which will guide you to continuously improving upon that whom you have already become.

If you are seeking a more scientific explanation for why you are regularly seeing 11:11, John W. Hoopes, PhD, says you’re likely experiencing apophenia, “an error of perception—the tendency to interpret random patterns as meaningful.” We are engaging in selective perception, in which certain things that are on our minds stand out regularly as our brains find patterns attractive and engaging.

Priming and framing, two psychological causes of selective perception also play a major role. They unconsciously entice us to perform certain actions over and over, often without properly registering the trigger stimulus. So if we whip out our phone at 11:11 a.m. several days in a row, a psychological thought pattern in our brain is usually responsible.

Connecting with one’s higher self has always been a prerequisite for success and happiness. If you find yourself connecting with the “angel numbers,” you might take a full minute to appreciate making your connection and listen to what you have to say, because in this unique moment, you are more likely to hear yourself than any of the other minutes in the day.

Happy 11:11

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
