When a bird is alive, it eats the ants. When the bird is dead, the ants eat the bird.

When a bird is alive, it eats the ants. When the bird is dead, the ants eat the bird.
Time and circumstances can change at any time. Don’t devalue or hurt anyone in life. You may be more powerful today, but remember, time is more powerful than you.
I have watched various processes like hazing newcomers to a fraternity, or making new doctors work extreme shifts because they are new in the field. In my field of entertainment, I see some people move up the ladder and become ever increasingly arrogant and disrespectful of coworkers and vendors.
In this observation, it is my impression that people feel so valiant for having survived their earlier misery that they feel a need to impart a segment of that misery on others in some distorted sense of pay it forward karmic retribution.
This feels so low vibrational to me as to warrant today’s musing. Imagine if the opposite were true. Imagine if people who had worked so hard to get to where they are currently, felt an innate need to help others along the way. If perhaps they felt so much pride in their position that they were joyous in trying to reach out to others and share some of that intelligent wealth of experience with those who so desperately need it.
There are countless mentor programs that provide exactly this kind of opportunity and those are high vibration in their concept and execution. So, given the contrast between the two, I surmise that the ones who are leveraging petty behavior to those who are following in their tracks must be insecure about their own ability to remain in the position of power that they have achieved. Subconsciously their behaviors are reflecting this deep insecurity in order that they may remain in a superior position.
Alas, time is the great equalizer. None have found a solution to defeat the aging process and in the end, everyone falls in favor of a newer successor. It is just the way of things.
Given that reality, it makes considerably more sense to me to share wisdom with others, go the distance to be kind to all, and find ways of teaching anyone who has interest in things that you have formulated in the course of your existence.
Every little detail of our lives are the direct result of standing on the shoulders of the brilliant people who came before us. From the moment you climbed out of your bed with sheets, pillows, blankets (all developed by others) and walked into the shower with plumbing and fixtures, all developed by someone else, to every last detail of your life, you are living vicariously from the knowledge and experience of others.
Being miserly with knowledge and opportunity is short-sighted. Far more valuable to recognize that collectively we all make the planet considerably more habitable and ultimately more enjoyable when we collaborate, rather than when we penalize others for the pain we suffered in getting to where we have gotten to at this stage of the game.
Happy Wednesday!
