When I despair, I remember that all throughout history, the way of truth and love has always won. There have been murderers and tyrants, and for a time they can seem invincible. But in the end, they always fall.

GANDHI
Do you feel optimistic about the future of humanity?
I do.
In the face of story after story, we are continually bombarded by the projections of dark futures for humanity, and our planet… and yet, I remain more optimistic than ever before. Is this because I am a “cup half full” person? No. In part because a cup is never half full, ever. It is always a combination of water molecules and air molecules, so regardless, the cup is always full, unless you put it into a pristine vacuum chamber and suck all of the air molecules out.
Rather, my optimism stems from a series of variables that I am becoming privy to over the course of doing my current projects and networking. In this exploration, I am meeting scientists with working, viable solutions to some of the most critical of today’s problems. As I speak with these visionaries, I become all the more enthusiastic that the future remains very bright.
We have a lot of people in this world that are trying to tell other people what they can or cannot do. Without taking a political posture in this thread, I would reply that it looks in most cases like our system is working and as if justice may well prevail.
To Gandhi’s point, the way of truth and love is still winning on the giant Earth scoreboard. There are still many who challenge that supposition and thankfully, there are even more who support it. In fact, substantially more.
As I watch tyrants take the world stage, it does feel in many cases, as if karma continues to take its course throughout the events. It may take longer than I might hope for, but it does eventually seem to prevail.
May I suggest that if you are not feeling optimistic about the fate of humanity, and if you are feeling powerless to do anything about it, you are wrong. There are countless options at your disposal, predicated upon how you want to take action. You can make your voice heard, you can volunteer to bring your time to valuable causes of your choosing. You can spread positive knowledge to others to keep them apprised of new things that you are recognizing as being crucial.
Do not ever despair, instead, use that discomfort to your advantage and galvanize your actions to make yourself of core use to those purposes you feel deserve and warrant your time.
Happy Tuesday!
