As I took my walk this morning, my mind open to the stimuli that trigger a sense of wonder, thousands of flowers were full face to the sun, absorbing photons and converting them into growth energy using photosynthesis. If you take a moment and you contemplate just the mystery of that little microcosm of magic, it is truly divine in nature.

Take a couple steps backwards and add more life forms, more intricacies of inter-dependent biological systems, all intertwined into a massive ecosystem, and the contemplation of the wonder and the mystery behind all of that is truly extraordinary.

As an artist, looking at each one of the flowers and seeing the unique quality of each one, even in a field of daisies, one begins to learn the importance of being unique while at the same time being part of a greater whole.

We are no different as human beings, collectively we might all look like humanity in the same way that a field of daisies looks like just a bunch of flowers, but upon closer inspection, we discover the wonder of the unique beauty of the individual.

We live in a planet that surrounds us with majesty, wonder, beauty, mystery and countless pathways of exploration in both micro and macro directions. As we progress on our respective paths, our choice as individuals shapes our unique nature, while collectively adding to humanity as a whole.

If a single flower can trigger a depth of thought, is it not a magical tool to facilitate and to stimulate our sense of wonder?

Spring will give way to Summer in but a few short days, but before it disappears, I wanted to spend a moment and create an homage to the divine beauty of a flower and call out the special nature of the human mind’s capability to contemplate far deeper and greater variables than the flower might ever imagine.

If my musing this morning causes you to look at a flower more closely this week, then my time will have been well spent. For I believe that flowers are on this planet as stimuli to create joy and happiness in all living beings. ?I hope you have an amazing day!!?

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
