You never know what someone is struggling with, and if they are ready to give up. Your words have power. Choose to be kind.

You never know what someone is struggling with, and if they are ready to give up. Your words have power. Choose to be kind.
Do you regularly choose your words with kindness in mind?
How many times has somebody made an off-the-cuff comment to you that under normal circumstances might have been innocuous, but under the circumstances that you were weathering at that moment, was emotionally devastating to you?
If we never truly know what someone else is going through, until we metaphorically walk a mile in their shoes, perhaps it would be a wise overall strategy to recognize that everybody is probably weathering circumstances, of which we are not fully aware, and therefore, erring on the side of kindness and compassion, wherever possible, is the proper approach.
Have you noticed how you blossom inside when somebody is warm enough to pay you a complement of consequence? At that point, you feel an extra shade of warmth, and an overall receptivity to people and life, because someone went out of their way to be genuinely kind and respectful to you.
With each and every one of these moments, our overall esteem grows, and our comfort in our own skin, matures.
Is this because we do not have enough self-esteem to validate ourselves before somebody chooses to make a comment or is it more likely that with each and every complement that comes our way, we become that much more appreciative of our own selves because through the external complement that is paid to us, we have a brief salvation, from whatever might be plaguing our emotions at that moment in time?
When you understand, the true power of words, you are that much more empowered to leverage them to your greatest benefit. Not only are you potentially more persuasive, but you are also that much more impactful and poignant in any genuine, from the heart comment you might opt to make to another.
When another person receives such a warm and heartfelt gift, it not only makes them feel good, but it also makes you feel good in the process. Understanding this particular dynamic and working with that understanding to spread warmth and joy throughout your world is one of the tremendous keys to success in life.
Through these behaviors, we deepen our friendships, our personal relationships, and spread some incremental joy to those who are around us. And who knows? One of them might be having a much harder day than you might imagine, and in your genuine, heartfelt complement, you can potentially elevate them one notch higher than they were feeling prior to your communication.
Kindness is a gift, spread it from the heart with frequency. It truly costs you nothing and to the receiving party, it might be the most important thing they heard that day!
Happy Tuesday!
