You weren’t born to just pay bills and die.

Why were you born?
Bypassing the obvious biological answer, I started to contemplate the deeper response.
Fate? Destiny?
Fate: the will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do : DESTINY
Destiny: a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power or agency
I have often felt that both fate and destiny were a poetic license for trying to project alignment atop moments of incongruity into some perceived higher order. It is wonderful for myths, legends and literature, but does it hold true in reality?
I have always liked to believe that I am in control of my own future. I have not ascribed to any religion or belief system that facilitates my belief that there is anything stronger than my own personal will and determination as to create any outcome in my life that I am seeking. I make no assertions that I am correct in my belief.
So what is the answer to the question, why were you born? It certainly isn’t to pay bills and die.
There are many answers to the question, predicated upon geographical location, moment in history, biological relatives, circumstances, physical characteristics, and so much more.
If we have a soul or an internal Spirit or LifeSource within us, did that exist prior to conception? Does it live beyond death? Does it reincarnate?
There are so many potential answers to the question as to make this simple question into one of the most complicated questions of all.
Regardless of which of the myriad of answers you feel is most accurate, I would have to believe that one common answer must be…..to make that life count.
There can be millions of ways for making a life count…Far too many to enumerate here, but whichever combination of those ways any of us choose to leverage in the course of finding meaning to our existence, the one thread that all of them have in common is that they create a deeper sense of fulfillment for the individual.
We have all survived 2020 (with scars to prove it). I believe that 2021 will bring a renaissance same as after the plague 500 years ago. In that renaissance comes a rebirth of life as witnessed by a mass return to all of the now repressed activities that defeating a virus will facilitate.
I hope in this window of joy your deeper life meaning comes ever closer to fruition.
Happy Thursday!😊
