You will never be able to escape from your heart. So it is better to listen to what it has to say.

You will never be able to escape from your heart. So it is better to listen to what it has to say.

PAULO COELHO

You may have a feeling in your gut, but if your heart isn’t into it, the chances of it being the right decision for you, narrows considerably.

We speak of our bodies as if they have different areas of consciousness. And perhaps they do, but those aspects have yet to be discovered.

More likely, we use these metaphors to explain certain qualities of thought, in the hopes that in characterizing them as such, others will be more readily able to identify with the way we are thinking, and, more accurately, how those feelings came to pass internally.

Feelings from the heart are characterizing those deep set emotions that drive our most important choices in personal and professional arenas. Those heart-felt feelings enable us to make the critical choices that will drive our lives in uniquely disparate directions. So their overall importance in the hierarchy of our options could not be more critical in determining how our lives will unfold.

Some believe that we have a parallel being that is a part of us living outside of the physical dimension. In their belief, they explain that when we feel emotion, our parallel being is communicating with us, guiding us from the negative thoughts that attract negative outcomes to positive thoughts that will attract the positive experiences.

Whether that is true or a transposition of how our emotions and our thoughts attract outcomes, is immaterial. What I believe is important is that whether it is a parallel component of us outside the third dimension or whether it is our heart speaking to us, these channels of internal communication are very real. It may not be anything more than our separating our mind from the daily ritual long enough to contemplate matters of a more ephemeral nature, when these thoughts glimmer within, we are treated to a chance to dig into our overall psyche and find an internal dialogue that is critically important to how our life is evolving.

In “The Alchemist,” Paulo Coelho does perhaps one of the single greatest explorations of this topic, and is one of the most read books of all time (up there with The Holy Bible and Quotations from Chairman Mao. It is a compelling journey of Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who is lead on an odyssey to pursue his deepest dream.

Your heart is your central organ. It determines if you are alive or dead. So when it chooses to speak to you via emotion or thought, you would be wise to listen, as everything hangs in the balance.

Happy Sunday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
