Your true enemy is nothing but a reflection. The ultimate battle is an internal one.
Who is your ultimate adversary?
When you are caught wrestling with your internal emotions and your insecurities are manifesting an imposter syndrome within, you are face to face with your single greatest foe.
How many brilliant concepts have been thwarted upon the contemplation of the idea?
We may be quick to ideate something of magnitude, but just as quickly, we are countered by fear, anxiety, and trepidation, each of which work quickly to suppress what was a stroke of brilliance just moments prior.
When we have witnessed others fail, the indelible impression left in that wake can cause countless great concepts that we have conjured to remain exactly that, just a great concept, but nothing of true substance.
How then, do some progress past this stage?
In metaphysical terms, they align with their higher self. In layman’s terms, they suck it up, absorb those worrisome emotions and rise above all of that with their own degrees of bravado and self hypnotic determination.
In this inner blast of courage, they awaken to the reality that without these extra degrees of fortitude, they are going to remain exactly where they are today and that tomorrow will not bring them the outcomes they are hoping for.
In that willful determination, they awaken to the inner courage that galvanizes their internal strength and which propels them into the next steps of pursuing that which they might have discarded out of the initial fear responses.
If you are continually terrified of failure, you will most certainly stagnate. If you are willing to fail forward, then you are no longer truly failing, but rather, working to your greatest capacity.
This may have setbacks. Some of greater magnitude. Your foe waits for you at each of these junctures. It loves to remind you that “it told you so,” and that “you are never going to succeed.”
Once you understand this internal demon, you recognize that you gain your greatest courage by stopping and staring fear in the face.
With that weapon in your arsenal, you have a much greater chance of surpassing those concerns, elevating yourself to new levels of capability, and progressing head first into the unknown.
Happy Monday!
