When you do something meaningful, you will feel a gentle breeze of satisfaction moving through your inner self, a river of happiness flowing within you. May all beings be happy and healthy.
It’s rather disturbing, because when you’re young you think so much is important, including oneself. But as you get older, I think you find less and less is important, apart from some very, very fundamental things, one of them being a love for one’s fellow man, and a care for their survival. And a care for one’s immediate family, then friends and then wider, like a circle, like ripples in water.
Details create the big picture.
Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently.
Allow every situation to be what it is, instead of what you think it should be.
Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasure to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.
Be as smart as you can, but remember that it is always better to be wise than to be smart.
There are no two words more harmful in the English language than ‘good job’.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
I hope you choose to surround yourself with people who want what’s best for you. These people will challenge your perspective in a healthy, loving way, intentionally expanding emotional limitations to elevate your thinking, stimulating inner motivation.
