Colin Jost – The Best Way To Predict The Future…

colin jost

Yesterday, Colin Jost appeared in a remarkable program on YouTube for all of the graduates of 2020 who did not have a formal graduation ceremony. I thought it was a very moving and touching experience and had more than its share of beautiful performances, commencement speeches, and words of affirmation.

When Colin Jost came on and talked about how he had stumbled around in a career before he found comedy, it resonated because I am sure all of us stumble around at points in our lives, trying our best to find the path.

He proposed this quotation on camera, so of course as a willing audience, I transcribed it and added it to the Sizzle collection because it embodies our philosophy.

The future is for the making not for the taking. The future will be made of vibrant souls who are never satiated by what is and are always perpetually driven by what could be. I know a couple people in my camp who absolutely embody that spirit and I treasure that about them❤️

While the world we are living in needs extensive repair, like any good fixer-upper, there is so much more that is right about the world than what is wrong about the world, it is incumbent upon all of us to become architects of a brighter future that we all can share. One that is inclusive and tolerant and empathetic and innovative.

I have dedicated my life, my soul, and everything that I have into trying to be one of those architects. So I felt every bit as much of the exhilaration when Colin Jost shared this thought because I think we are on the precipice of being one of the most instrumental changes possible.

Today is a gorgeous Monday, the sun is shining bright, my optimism could not be stronger and my passion to ensure that we are doing everything in our power to be part of the change could not be any more resolute. Enjoy the vibrant day!! ???

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
