Surround yourself with people who illuminate your path.  Who push you to dig deeper.  Who make you happy. Who make you laugh. Who pray for you and support you, even in the hard times. Those are your people.

KRISTEN BUTLER

Do you have the right people in your orbit?

If you are surrounding yourself with people of magnitude, they complement your life in countless ways.

A good team member in your life will openly challenge anything in your world with an open heart, and a clear desire to help you to improve and mature, in ways that only a close ally is able to provide.

These are the people who spend time laughing with you, collaborating with you, vacationing with you, doing social activities with you, continuously engaging in each other’s lives in deep and meaningful ways.

You will undoubtedly find yourself with numerous squads in your life, each having its own unique qualities and benefits. But collectively, the sum total of all of these squads ultimately provide you with a framework and a construct of magnitude, such that you may continue to blossom and grow.

Concurrently, we are each part of many other people’s squads in life. In our role to them, it is incumbent upon us to provide comparable support, humor, wisdom, compassion, and a deep understanding that allows those people to feel appreciated, and understood, in ways that only a close ally is capable of providing.

When you find people like this in your life, treat them like gold, for there is nothing more valuable than having deep relationships with people whom you may count on in the toughest of times.

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
