After all of this is over, you’re going to come out stronger than before.

After all of this is over, you’re going to come out stronger than before.

Have you ever been immersed in a situation that is so overwhelming, you can’t fathom what it might be like to be on the other side?

I believe we all have.

The survival skills that those who get through circumstances like this utilize to their best advantage is to visualize where they expect to be when everything equalizes after the fact.

They put their frame of reference into that headspace, and they work the entire time they are under duress with the expectation that they are headed for that destination, until eventually, they arrive.

This seems so arcanely simple, and yet when you are in the thick of the experience, it can be so overwhelming, that to find this particular frame of reference may feel almost as fruitless as searching for a needle in a haystack.

What is the discerning difference that makes some capable of doing this and others not? I would have to believe a lot of it is utilizing your power over your own mind to quell the discomfort, cure the current situation, and work a plan in which you are able to fully immerse yourself in the triumphant joy of having come out the other side.

Speaking from personal experience, my most devastating chapters have continuously been assuaged through practice of these kinds of thought processes. This is why I choose to write every single day. There are so many parts of life that are not taught either by parents or school, and it becomes incumbent upon any of us to try and find the pre-requisite solutions to these problems, lest we should all fall victim to them.

Whatever turmoil you are experiencing, it will most likely disperse in a period of time if you follow these practices and you leverage them to your greatest strength.

Happy Thursday!

When I was 5 years old, I discovered that the lemon tree in the backyard + dixie cups + water and sugar and I was in business. I have been hooked on that ever since. In 1979, I borrowed $14,000 to create a brand new product... photographic greeting cards with no text on the inside, called Paradise Photography. That was the start of The Illusion Factory. Since then, The Illusion Factory has been entrusted by all of the major studios and broadcasters with the advertising and marketing of over $7 billion in filmed, live, broadcast, gaming, AR, VR and regulated gaming forms of entertainment, generating more than $100 Billion in revenue and 265 awards for creativity and technology for our clients. When I took a break from film school at UCLA to move to Hawaii, my mother did not lecture me. Instead, she took 150 of her favorite aphorisms and in her beautiful calligraphy, wrote them artistically throughout a blank journal. That is the origin of the Lessons from the Mountain series. Since then, on my journeys to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise, I have spent countless hours contemplating words of wisdom from the sages of all races, genders and political persuasions, constantly accumulating the thoughts to guide me on my life path. I hope you enjoy my books. Please let me know your thoughts, as I highly value your feedback!
